Driving license in Czech republic

I just passed driving license exams. I am very excited - I would be celebrating instead writing this post if I didn't take meds. In this post I want explain why it is so big deal here in Czech rep. and how driving school works in Czech rep.

Driving license for car(until 3500 kg) can get only 18 years old person. First step is visiting doctor - he confirms you are able to drive a car(you don't have eye defect etc.). Next step is choosing driving school. Basic schooling costs usually about $500. This price contains 4.5 hours in simulator,16.5 hours in car and basic lessons. It is set by law. I think it is not enough for most people who hadn't driven car - for example - I learned basics in car handling on backyard and closed roads so in driving school I trained only crossroads in city.

Next and last step is passing the exam. Every exam costs $60. Exam have two parts - teoretical and practical. Teoretical part is composed from test and oral exam. Test is hard but manageable (there is 500 possible questions) - you have to succes on 85 percent. Practical part is much harder. I think most of nowdays drivers wouldn't passed this exams on first try. You have to be at least little lucky to pass it because single little mistake can cause failure.

A lot of my friends passed exams on third, forth, even seventh try.
